THE LIFE AND TIMES OF KARKAT FUCKING VANTAS
A homestuck a.u.

Your legs carry you fast as you turn against a brick wall, spotting the shimmer of Terezi's red dress a block ahead.
A singing drunk looks up as you dash by and into the street, maneuvering onto the next block, feet aching.
She slows at the small riverside park just by the Hudson, and you slow as well.
She stands there, clutching the rail just by the riverside, staring out ahead into the night.
"T-Terezi?" You croak. You're starting to get cold feet; wondering if it was a good idea to follow her out here.
You step closer, frightened at her silence. "Terezi?" There is no sign of tears, but her voice wavers as she finally speaks. "What?"
You calm your nerves and slowly slide your arms around her, hugging her from behind.
She's tenser than a terrified cat but she doesn't pull back or tell at you so you slide your torso close to her back. "I'm sorry."
"Oh, yeah." She softly cackles, "Karkles's finally g-getting action, h-huh?"
It's not funny in any way and you feel a lump rise in your throat. "You are too, huh?" You let out a dry laugh.
There's a long silence in which you desperately hope you didn't mess any thing up.
"What're you talking about?"
She instantly lets out a loud 'BLUH' and you scowl, confused.
"That's gross Karkles. He's just my best cool kid friend!" She cackles, "All we do is rap and throw beats and he's teaching me how to be cool."
Relief lifts from your chest and you slack your arms a bit, unable to keep a small smile from stretching across your mouth.
"There's nothing going on between me and Jade," You say, "She's just a friend trying to get her thickheaded boyfriend back from Planet of the Jock Idiots."
Terezi laughs and you smile, your heart aching at the light hearted sound. When she isn't cackling like a witch, Terezi's laugh is adorable.
A hazy film slides over your eyes as she turns to look at you.
The Hudson shines spectacularly to your left, letting off the city's warm glow into her pretty translucent pale blue eyes.
Scars from the accident still dot around her eyelids, but with her dark lips resting in a tiny smile, they don't seem to stress her gorgeous face anymore.
Your arms slip back to your sides and she steps forward, looking up.
"Karkles, I-" There's loud honking from cars feet from the park, but it all seems distant as you slide a hand to her warm cheek.
You gulp, squeeze your eyes shut and pucker your lips, leaning forward and clumsily pressing your puckered lips to her pursed ones.
She cackles, grabs your collar and pulls you in for a deeper kiss.
Within seconds, it's no longer the awkward pursed kiss you fumbled to give her, and you're surprised at how good she is at this.
Her hands slide, relaxed, around your neck, but one leaves to grab yours and place it on her hip, which you decide to grip.
Hands now firmly placed on her hips, you gently move your lips against hers, goose bumps all over your skin and red flushed all over your face.
She makes a happy noise when you loosen your grip on her hips and start to gently rub circles in her back.
You smile to her lips at this, but then gulp a bit as she pushes your lips apart, a soft warm tongue slithering against yours.
Starting to feel dizzy, you pull back, Terezi retracting her tongue.
"U-Uh, T-Terezi I
" Your voice is cracking a bit and you clear your throat.
But before you can say anything further, she pushes you to the railing and kisses you again.
You shift, her body pressed hard against yours as her nails rake down your back.
Flustered and jittery, you stiffen as her tongue wiggles in again, licking and pushing against your own tongue.
Your hands grab her hips again and you push her back just as her hands fall on your ass.
"T-Terez, I-I uh know that you're like uhm
in the mood for a sloppy and st-tuff but uh its been a long night, y'know? And I'm feeling kinda fucking o-overwhelmed." You stutter.
She giggles and squeezes your ass, causing you to jump.
"Of course, Karkles~" She purrs and rests her head against your chest.
You take a deep breath, and gulp. "So uh
we going back to the party?"
She looks up at you. "Silly Nubby~ we're going to be interrogated like criminals if we go back! Let's escape!! Where's our getaway vehicle?~"
You take her hand. "Thought you were all about justice, TZ!" You smirk at her and she cackles.
"Only when I'm in the mood for it!" She exclaims and you tug her along to the nearest subway station.
She stumbles after you, grinning. "So where to, Mister Vantas?"
You grin a bit, happiness bursting in your chest as you tug her down to the subway station below street level. "Your house."
Terezi's giggles fill the hallway as she leads you up to her room, her hand clamped tightly into yours as you give her another smooch on her neck.
You're red and flustered and hope you're doing okay at these kisses. It's just
you can't seem to stop touching her.
Her house is big and modern. There's no one home, since Vriska is out at the party (although you didn't see her) and Terezi told you that Mr. Pyrope and Ms. Snowman were off on a date.
You stumble a bit up the stairs, which, like the rest of the house, was hardwood floor, and you grin as Terezi tugs you into her room.
It's the only room in the house that has vibrant colors, the walls painted white, but covered in every inch of posters torn from magazines.
There are no music bands or actors and actresses, it's just dragons and mountains and courtrooms scattered around with posters of only the best video games.
A large Elder Scrolls poster is tacked next to her bed, which is messy with red covers and a few clothing items.
You almost spit as you spot a few pairs of panties and a bra on her teal beanbag in the corner and you gulp as Terezi kicks off her flats.
She opens her sun-streaked curtains, the soft light of the moon flooding into the room.
You untie your shoes and pull off your vest, and in your socks, you go over to her computer.
Skype is open and you look over the online list. No one's on but one girl. Named 'Megido.' You glance at Terezi.
"Whose Megido?" You ask and she turns from the sweatshirt she's trying to wiggle into.
"Hm? Oh that's the curvy exchange student Sollux is tutoring~ She's really nice!" A large grins stretches across her face. "Adores death! We talk about dragons."
Ohh. You turn back to Skype and then glance at Terezi again, who is now at your shoulder.
"Karkat, will you be staaaaying for the niiiight?"
You gulp. Well this isn't the first time you've stayed over at Terezi's, although that was a while ago. But still, it's a bit
different know because of the whole kiss thing.
Wait does this mean you're her boyfriend? You blush darkly but there's an insane amount of happiness going around in your head and heart and you feel great about it.
"Sure." You murmur, abandoning all thought about her family finding out. You'll be able to sneak out in the morning hopefully.
You're getting pretty sleepy too, but suddenly Terezi grabs your shoulders and pushes you out of her room.
"Mm get out Karkles! I need to change!" She cackles and slams the door after you.
Sighing, but still smiling, you go back downstairs to the kitchen, looking around for food, and spotting exactly what you were searching for.
Grabbing the bag of popcorn and throwing it into the microwave, you slide into the living room, turning on the TV and plopping down on the uncomfortable sofa.
You surf through the channels and look up when Terezi cackles and trots down the stairs.
Instead of some cute or sexy nightgown like chicks always wear in the movies (or porn), she's in a huge sweatshirt and pajama shorts.
But you really don't mind because she looks cute anyways with her hair tied way up in a bun.
She pauses, frowning a bit before feeling her way into the living room. You softly call to her. "On the couch, Terez."
She blinks and grins. "I knew that you silly asshole!" She plops next to you, placing her hands on your face.
"What're you doing?"
"Shut up, jerk. I'm blind remember?" She cackles again and you roll your eyes, sliding an arm around her waist.
She crinkles your fancy ass shirt in her hands and rakes her tongue across your cheek. You shiver and grimace. "Gross."
"Awww Karkles, but don't you like it?!" She slides her arms around you and snuggles her head to your shoulder.
You smirk at her. "I'd appreciate that tongue somewhere else though~"
Barely the words leave your mouth before she slaps your arm hard. "Karrrrrrklessssss!!!~"
You wince and rub the spot, sticking out your tongue childishly. "Heh well its true!" You slide against her and snuggle.
A few minutes of TV and eating, and then she's leading you back upstairs to her room again, her cute face stretched in a wide yawn.
You notice her canines and start to think about her as a dragon, which causes you to think of her in a ridiculous dragon outfit.
Smirking in laughter, you hardly notice that she's tugging you into bed with her before a flutter of fabric causes you to snap back to reality.
The blanket covers your head, and Terezi's too, her breath softly enveloping everything in her smell.
Her arms are clasped around your chest and she nuzzles to your neck. "Goodnight Karkles." You hear her mumble as she falls asleep.
You stay awake, listening to her breath and snore and drool to your shirt, her body rising and falling softly against yours.
You stroke her hair softly, close your eyes and soon you're snoring loudly with Terezi cuddled close to your chest.
In the light of the glaring morning, you roll around, feeling not rested at all.
The rest of the night had gone by in a millisecond, it felt like, and you open your eyes tiredly, just a bit, to see that Terezi is no longer sleeping in the bed next to you.
You look over to the red-faced clock and narrow your eyes at it. 9:34 on a Saturday morning, lord are you glad it's not a school day.
Hearing muffled chatter downstairs, you lazily roll around as you can hear it clearer now.
"Honey, I can't seem to find the red hairbrush. I need it for my curling iron."
"Ughhhhhhhh. I know where it is! Stupid Terezi hoards all the red shit in her room. Hold on, lemme get it."
Feet are storming upstairs but they're paused, as a door slams open. "No, hehe, wait I'll get it!"
It's Terezi's voice, with her usual cackle and hoarse pitch. But there's a slight ring of panic in it and you can't seem to register why.
"No, you're still in your bathrobe, geeeeez! No one wants to see that! Get dressed!" The other voice scoffs and then more footsteps.
Hey that sounds like Vriska, you realize and then you sit up, eyes wide. Vriska. Terezi's room.
The door swings wide open and you meet the wide blue eyes of a currently half dressed Vriska with her weird hair high in a bun.
Everything crashes down as she shrieks and you skid backward, hitting the headboard and holding your head as Terezi races into the room.
"Get out!!" Terezi repeats again and again, holding onto the towel around her body as she tries to shove Vriska out.
But then, as if it couldn't get any worse, the principle of your school and the very man that haunts your dreams of Terezi with a chainsaw and a promise of death, skid into the room.
There's eerie quiet, in which you and the Pyrope-Sekret family stare back and forth at each other.
They're quite an attractive family, you foggily realize, but your eyes rest on the skin that Terezi's showing.
The slow slope of her side boob from the towel side, and those milky thighs poking from the bottom of her towel, god that bare collarbone too.
But before you can further eye-fuck that gorgeous piece of meat in front of you, Mr. Pyrope grabs you by the shirt and drags you out of Terezi's bed.
"DAD!! Let go of Karkles!" She steps forward but he pushes her back into Ms. Snowman, who holds her from following Mr. Pyrope as he drags you downstairs.
Coughing and holding your collar away from your neck, you struggle a bit as he dumps you on the ground floor of his house. "GET OUT." He roars, reminding you of a dragon.
"DON'T YOU EVER COME BACK!" And with that, he kicks you out of the house and slams the front door behind you.
Rubbing your ass, you curse quietly and wince as a shoe flies out of a window and knocks you in the head, its twin falling down as well and toppling onto the sidewalk.
You move your aching body and slide on your shoes, buzzing in anger. "Fucking hell, you idiot," You yell at yourself, smacking your forehead.
Bad idea. Everything is sore and that was a shitty idea, sleeping in Terezi's bed. You didn't even get laid.
Back it up there tiger. You definitely don't need to add anything about sex to your already busy mind.
Though it's hard not to when you just saw Terezi in nothing but a skimpy towel
God that was probably the only mildly okay part of the morning.
(By mildly okay, you mean fucking tittastic.)
Stuffing your hands in your pockets, you pad down the stone stoop of Terezi's house, rubbing your cheek and frowning at the stubble.
You look down both ways of the street but then glance behind you, back at her house.
You want to say that you saw Terezi waving in the window but of course, no one's there.
Not wanting Mr. Pyrope to dash out and stab you, you hurry to the left, heading for the nearest subway station.
You trudge down to the platform, hopping the ticket feeders and leaning against a tile pillar, staring down at your feet.
You're not thinking about how much trouble you are in with your parents about pretty much disappearing, or how a rumor about you and Terezi having sex could go around school because of Vriska; you're still transfixed on the night before.
So you're dating her now.
You look up, eyes wide as hell as you let out a loud whoop, punching the air in happiness. "FUCKING YESSSS!!!" You grin really wide and punch the pillar.
Despite the pain, you hop around, fucking pleased with yourself. Nice going, Karkat. You did something FUCKING AMAZING for once.
"GOD!" You screech, doing an Elvis knee slide, "FINALLY!!"
After a massive geeking out attack, you're on the subway grinning like an idiot as the train stops at station after station.
You tap your feet and roll your shoulders, continuing to grin wide. You pull out your phone, checking the time. It's 11 in the afternoon and you look, smell and smile like a dog.
Sliding off of the train and going up to street level, you catch a bus, not planning on walking all the way to your apartment.
It's 12 by the time you catch a bus and you settle on a seat on the left side, pressing your forehead to the glass as you lean your chin on your palm.
The bus leaves Manhattan, but just at the Brooklyn Bridge, you frown, as the bus gets stuck with lines of cars in midday traffic.
You stare at the rows upon rows of cars, gazing at the people in them, wrinkling your nose as you see something gross or stupid.
Meeting the eyes of an 11-year-old, you hold her gaze until she blushes furiously and starts to roll down her window.
Aborting what you thought was just a measly staring contest, you spot a sparkling gray, very familiar car just by the bus.
You stand up, gripping the edge of the window, eyes wide.
"Oh shit!" You stare down at your pretty girlfriend, pouting in the backseat of her father's chair, Vriska talking avidly next to her to her mother in the front seat.
She rolls down her window and sticks her head out, and you watch as she whines and coughs a bit. How cute, she gets car sick!~
(God when did you start thinking that was cute, you sicko?)
You grab the bus's window and pull it down, leaning out of the higher window, stepping on the seat despite the bus driver's yelling for you to get down.
"Hey Terezi!" You call over the honks and noise of the city. She looks up, frowning at your voice. "K
"Hey, I'm on a bus next to you. So uh, real quick before I get caught-"
"Oh Karkat!!! I'm so sorry about my dad! He's such a-"
She's being way too loud and you instantly cut her off with a big shush.
"It's okay, don't worry an ever-loving fuck over it. I just wanted to say, uh
" There's honking and her car scoots up a bit as the traffic starts to clear.
You can see Vriska shift suspiciously at why Terezi is like halfway out the car window and looking up, so you better make this quick.
"FUCKING HELL! I LOVE YOUUU!" You screech, and her eyes go as wide as saucers as the car slides forward more, her whole family instantly snapping their necks to look out the window at your scream.
You jump backward, crashing onto the ground of the bus, startling a few other passengers.
Grinning widely but aching like a motherfucker, you can hear the traffic clear and her car reeving away.
You wonder if you have a concussion. But conclude that its worth it because wow school on Monday is gonna be great.
Fuck, did you just really say that?
